Fist bumps all around; Psych: The Movie is happening! This actually isn’t new news, but during San Diego Comic Con, Psych-os gathered together to witness the first trailer in which we see Shawn and Gus getting back in shape. Not in shape like they’re going to run a marathon though. In shape as in trying to remember their iconic catch phrases.
We were also treated to some details of the show. For example, we know that most of the original cast, including James Roday as Shawn Spencer, Dulé Hill as Gus, Maggie Lawson as Juliet O’Hara, Corbin Bernson as Henry Spencer, Kirsten Nelson as Karen Vick, and Kurt Fuller as Woody the Coroner, are expected to make an appearance.
Timothy Omundson will also be reprising his role as Carlton Lassiter; however, due to a stroke that he suffered before production began, he will be appearing in only one scene. TV Guide is reporting though that Lassiter’s presence will be felt throughout the entire film.
“Lassiter is a part of the movie. We wish he was a bigger part of the movie. Circumstantially, that did not get to happen,” executive producer Chris Henze told TV Guide at San Diego Comic-Con. “The way that we’re looking at it as he’s there – he’s thought about, he’s talked about, he appears in the movie. There’s a bigger spot on the table for him for the next one, and we’re excited for that.”
Zachary Levi (Chuck) will also be joining the cast as the bad guy, Thin White Duke. He’ll be joined by WWE wrestler Charlotte Flair as his sidekick, Heather Rockrear, and Ballers actress Jazmyn Simon, as Gus’ new love interest.
Psych: The Movie will air on USA this December and of course, we will be watching. You know that’s right.
